Day4:Use Wikipedia & Google in different language

This is fourth day in Latina 2009.I’m interesting art of design.In my work, Iam expericially in instructional design,expericially for new learning method with electronic tools.Norway is a country fulling of design art.So I wanted to select the topic of “design in Norway”.

Wikipedia(language in Norway):

I cann’t found anything by the keyword as”Norway design”.So the teacher suggested to choose the keyword”Norway” first.I browsed the webpage of (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norway)then enterentered the item”CULTURE”.There are many items or articles about architeture,music,painting,etc.

Wikipedia(language in Chinese):

I found somthing by the keyword as”挪威 (Norway)”,then entered the item of”culture” of Wiki in Chinese.The information about “Norway design” is less than Wiki in Norway.

Google((language in English):

I also searched Google by the keywords as “Norway design”,then found many pages and websitse about it.I’m glad to find several websites related about modern industry design in Norway,it is very nice.(http://www.norwaydesigns.no/;http://www.norskdesign.no/what-we-do/design-in-norway-article3697-622.html)

Summary of the First Three Days in LATINA

Toady is the third day of Latina.We have learned some interesting things which includes training ideas,wordpress blog, global communication for teachers and learners,webpage language of  html  and many Google clever  tools,such as Gmail,Picasa,Google Talk,Google translation,iGoogle,Calenda and etc.I have learned some of them before,but I didn’t use usually.In these few days,I have understood they are important to everyone.It is global comminicative skills that people from different  country need to konw.

We also had a midnight picnic yesterday,it is interesting for us.I come from area of sea.But Norway sea is different,it is deep blue and low mountain beside sea.Many white ships surf on the sea.Many people have sea picnic,play sand valleyball on deep night ,do anything just like morining or afternoon.

The first three days is the basic learning step.Skills are easy for us,but teachers seem to emphasize good habits of  Blog and using these electronic tools.They asked us to blog our blog everyday,share our ideas on Blog, upload your favorite photo or vedio,they also reply our blog after class everyday.They are some kind teachers and warm friends.

Google Translate

Google Translate is different from Yahoo,it have many language translating.These are sentences on my wall in Latina classroom.

The First Day of Latina Lesson

It is the first day of Latina lesson.We have several acitivities which includes coffee party,the official opening of the summer schhool, wellcome lunch,they are interesting.Norwegiens love art,they play music on welloming opening ,there are full of artise painting aronud street,buliding,room.Everyone use Ecard to share school’s libaries and computers.

LATINA course is most important for us.Serval teachers are in classroom to work together,they are team.We first use Google Map to introduce everyone’s background,country , hometown,etc.The classmate come from different country,it is indeed international class.

We use Google Email and Pressword Blog to post myself own blog on the afternoon.The lesson emphersizes designing, production and experimence.We make presatation, use ICT tools, sent email, upload new pages on BLOG. It is not only activities of course, but also is experiment of elearning.
